PERSONALITY

It takes a lot for him to truly trust anybody, so he’ll seem intimidating or uninterested at first but he’ll eventually gain comfort towards you by default. He’s reckless so expect some rule-breaking scandals and risks that he’s willing to take (he knows his limits as an idol). He doesn’t worry about other’s perspectives of him but he’s a sucker for those who appreciate his well-being. Yeah, I guess you can say he’s a bit of an ass. BACKGROUND

Being raised in the heart of Compton with a rather active and popular social life, it was near impossible for Ilsang to miss out on the phase every young boy in an urban lifestyle went through: ‘I wanna be famous.’ He and several close friends had idolized many artists growing up. From Tupac to KC & Jojo, all the way to TLC. Ilsang also had a strong Korean influence at home so his personal favorites included DEUX as well as Seo Taiji and The Boys. Between the hard hitting beats of American music and the performance dancing of the Korean music scene, two passions had been ignited from a young age and while some of his friends had moved on past the glitz and glamour phase, Ilsang still held on tight if not tighter onto it. It was everything he wanted and he would make it happen. Taking dance lessons with a close friend around the corner at Willdabeast’s studio after school 4 days a week from the beginning of middle school, in the comfort of his room, homework would often be foregone in favor of studying the styles of his favorite dancers or the music software he’d snuck his dad’s credit card to buy, recording videos and audio clips to post to his growing YouTube channel. His grades suffered but he never did bring home straight A’s and with empty promises to his parents to go to after school study sessions, his musicality and skill overall grew rapidly as did his dancing. It wasn’t until he was near 15 did his parents accept his dreams but only on one condition: he would debut in Korea and not the states. While skeptical, they knew it would be easier for him in their home country and the training and industry as a whole was much more respectable than America’s process. Agreeing without hesitation, Ilsang would at least attempt to keep his grades up so as not to flunk out but still get into a community college if needed but from that point on his focus was to prepare for his trek to Korea upon graduation.
